Things Accomplished in Fiction: I finished the first chapter this morning. The de Lint-King combo seems to work. Character introduction, feral dog attack, hints at strange behavior. Next chapters should flow from this point forward. I hope to get one more finished in time to submit at Monday's UWG meeting.

Things Accomplished in Real Life: Three weeks into my new workout and maintaining a food journal. This was the first full week using the Jillian Michaels Wii program, and its only getting easier to look forward to exercise. I'm starting to make excuses to work out. Which is a nice change. :-)

Daily calorie intake averages out around the 2,000 mark. I vary it from day to day, depending on what I'm in the mood for and what's available around the house or at work when I don't plan lunch. I resisted the urge to knock off some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups set out for Halloween in the kitchen here at the office. That's a win, since I love peanut butter cups, no matter the shape or whether they're dark, milk or white chocolate. Half their calories come from fat, though, and the idea of eating one doesn't sit well with my stomach.

Since the JM Wii program focuses on cardio (in addition to stretching and some strength building exercises), I have dropped some weight. Scale at home shows I've lost 12 pounds in the three weeks. As I increase my workout intensity (fewer breaks between circuits, keeping pace with the Jillian avatar), I hope to see these changes continue. Tweaking what I eat in addition to watching the calories will only help. Today's lunch was a salad, and it left me feeling full.
