Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.
I've seen this in several places around LJ late last night and this morning.
I'll say that I don't think opponents are "bigots" as much as they're afraid of change. I'm reminded of the comments Andy Griffith made in the recent Ron Howard election video. People are afraid of change, believing it says something about them or their way of life.
Love is love, and sex is an expression/symptom. We're pack animals and I believe we're wired by nature to bond together into "family" units for protection. Since nature isn't a fan of black and white/right and wrong and seems to function on a bell curve, there exist people at either end of that middle ground. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just the way our part of the universe works. Which makes it natural for like-minded people to bond. Which is another reason why people rage against change.
