I tried Thai food for the first time this afternoon. There's this Asian Grill place right off the interstate, one exit down from where I live.
Lin's Asian Grill - Google Maps So I go there, walk in, and I'm the only one. At first I thought they were closed, but they weren't so that was cool. So I see on the menu they have red curry chicken. I also ordered an appetizer which consisted of some strips of some meaty stuff that you dip into this tangy clear liquid peanut sauce with cucumber. It was very good. The curry chicken had chicken, mushrooms, some green stuff, strips of coconut and lots of coconut milk. It was very enjoyable... the milkyness and richness kind of reminded me of crawfish etouffee... except this curry stuff was spicy like hell. There was also rice, so it wan't too overpowering, but I needed lots of water. Also, I can breath a lot easier now.
That was really my first time I've eaten anything more authentic than china palace buffet. Oh nevermind, I did eat real sushi at a japanese steak house one time. But never Thai. I like.
