"The Blue Star by Tony Earley
This is a sequel to one of our favorite books ever, Mr. Earley's Jim the Boy (which features what is possibly our favorite last line ever). The Blue Star doesn't quite hit the quiet, emotional heights of its predecessor, but the story is just as beautifully told."

w00t.

waiting for neal and mel to make it down into the loose. last i heard they were eating at a sonic in kentucky. u know how when you spend a long time deep underwater you need to compress first, then, on your way up you have to decompress? right, like, because of the pressure down there...well, i think going to a sonic in kentucky is a perfect way to get ready for a dive into the deep south. i've said it before but tuscaloosa is basically as deep as it gets. you go much further south and you're swimming. this is reflected in the charming local culture(re: beer and meat). anyways, very excited to have both of them here for thanksgiving. should be a wonderful time. there is a department potluck that is always a great time. i have to work the next 2 nights which is bogus. but hey, i'm a company man and i could use the money.

a question, i've been listening to knapsack lots as of late. and then some jealous sound who, surprisingly, put out a very solid record. then, well, everyone kind of went away. anyone know what blair is up to these days? i love that whisper voice.

a happy thanksgiving to all of you. get your eat on. and try your best to concentrate on good friends and good food, not, you know, genocide.
