We're into our new house, and for the first time in several moves we got our shit in before the blizzard came.
But not long before.
Biggest snow since 1931. Take that you global-warmongers.
Haven't shoveled snow since ought-two, and it's not going well. Managed to get the car half-way up the drive and I'll be getting up early tomorrow to dig out the rest.
As a tween, I got paid good money to shovel snow. Another way growing up sucks.
And bad news from Namibia - got word that our old friend Ndaka died a few weeks ago. He had a beautiful garden next to the Cunene at the end of the Marienfluess, and he told me stories about growing up foraging in Angola. I brought him fishhooks and line all the way from America and he abandoned his somber demeanor and whooped like a kid. His burial was, I hear, disgracefully rushed but god-willing I'll be there in a year for his funeral. Not sure what I'll have to contribute but damned if I won't try.
