What's most important when dealing with abstract issues of philosophy is to keep an open mind and to acknowledge our own intellectual shortcomings. Often in life there is overwhelming evidence of "this" or "that", and we build a framework for our lives around those understandings. What it comes down to is that we know jack about anything, except convenient truths that allow us to build a "reality". There is a knowledge that is gained through our experience, for certain, but even that "knowledge" exists to explain a particular moment in time. Also, I'd never suggest that anyone look to a particular (credible) faith over another.

And here is my main point: I am always surprised when someone - anyone at all - is ABSOLUTELY certain they know what "It" is all about. It smacks of the same violence the claim of absolute religious authority led to in ages past.

Wonder is important, whether it is a wonder about natural sciences, humanity in general or philosophy. And to close the door on a concept completely is, perhaps, shortsighted.

But this is your journal, I agree. And you should say what you want in it. No argument here about that.

This isn't an endorsement for any particular faith, but simply an endorsement of faith.
