Repair tip

One of the kitchen cabinet doors was loose, and I’d been trying to fix it by tightening the screws when I realized the real problem is that the door has been swung open so many times over the past twenty years that the hole the screw goes into has been reamed out and the screw won’t hold anymore.

So the solution was:
I found a popsicle stick, and cut out a little piece the size of the screw. I took off the hinge, put wood glue on the stick and tapped it into the hole.

I left it like that for the rest of the day to let the glue set up. Once it was set, I just put the hinge back on and with that extra bit of wood in there, it fits snug.
