Had my first interview today/yesterday for "The Geek Squad". Man to use a word from the book of Kenji, it was "rad". It was the best interview I have ever had for a job. Right off the bat me and the interviewer hit it off, our views on customer service are very similar. We got a little ways into the interview and he said, "Normaly these only take 10 minutes or so but I think your going to be here awhile." And I was. I interviewed for like an hour. Im pretty sure I have got a job in the bag, It's just a matter of which one. They have an in-store tech position, and an in-home tech position, I want the in-home position, thats when they give you a company car and everything and you get to take the car home with you. Anyway he said he is going to recomend me for the in-home position but that 2 other managers need to sign off on it, so the chance may be slim since they usually fill this position from internal canidates. Even if i dont get it, i think im going to take the instore position. It pays better than what I was making and it has a pay scale and huge room for learning and promotion. My next interview is monday, ill know more after that, then there is a third and final interview. I think I need to start at 15 to offset the cost of commuting but from what he said that figure is pretty reasonable. Not to mention the sweet best buy discount: cost + 5%
