I was at the grocery store just now, and got in line at the cashier behind a man who didn't seem to have anything with him aside from his daughter, four or five years old, who he had in one arm. Turned out he was buying a little bottle of bubble solution for his daughter. The solution was apparently on sale, and his purchase rang up to a grand total of twelve cents. "That's quite a sale," he said.
Unfortunately he didn't have any cash on him, and since the price was so low (which he hadn't seemed to expect) the transaction was rejected when he tried to pay with his card. So I jumped on that grenade and paid the twelve cents for him. I'm a hero.
