In January, the cable station Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will be airing NINE Ghibli films! On the schedule are: Nausicaa, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, Only Yesterday, and Pom Poko. All of these will apparently be the Disney dubs, except for Only Yesterday which has not been dubbed (and seemingly won't be). This means that TCM will be premiering the Whisper and (new) Totoro dubs before their DVDs have been released. And, Only Yesterday is being included even though Disney is apparently not releasing it at all in the US. Naturally, being on TCM, these films will all be letterboxed and without commercial interruption. How exciting!

The absence of "Kiki's Delivery Service" from the schedule is a little surprising, but it's probably related to the fact that Kiki's airs on the Disney Channel occasionally. I guess the broadcast rights to it are already taken, whearas the others are not in rotation on any channel and are thus available to TCM.
