Big Giant Jesus struck by lightning.

A huge statue, nicknamed "touchdown Jesus" for the pose resembling the US-football referee's gesture for scoring a touchdown, burned down to its framework after lightning struck it.

I think the statue was made of fiberglass. Maybe BP made the resin solvents or something.
