Fool Serious party, visiting a friend, death of a friend
We had some communications mix-ups having to do with "T" and his usual Sunday appointment, and the party we were scheduled to attend in the afternoon. As a result he was somewhat late. Oops.
Fool Serious party
As it turned out, "J" wasn't up for the party - even though she knows and likes a lot of the "Fools" - so I went by myself.
The hosts of the party were SIFF enthusiast and board member "D" and her husband "B". Their home is fantastic, with a floor-to-ceiling view in all directions and a wrap-around balcony. They bought it three years ago, in part because they love hosting parties, and it's perfect for that. There was lots of table and counter space for all the potluck food contributions, plenty of space for people to sit (though not quite enough for everyone), and plenty of space for people to move around and mingle. It like fifty or more people.
An overdue conversation
After the party, I went to visit "K". The visit was initially just to deliver some paperwork I had from the time when I helped rescue her car from a tow yard. But it had been a while since we had talked at length, so we ended up talking for quite a while, out in the fresh air in front of her building. It was nice to see her again and get a chance to talk.
Death of a friend
The big news of the day was, of course, the death of "W", a good friend. But I didn't know he had died until after I got home and read the e-mail from his son.
