The following is the most amazing email exchange I or possibly any one has ever been a part of. First some quick background, Sarah busted her elbow about 2.5 weeks ago and she just went to hospital for it last friday. I went with her but had to miss class to do so and therefor had to email my engineering professor to inform him as to why I was missing class. I wrote this:

HI this is Steve Discenza, sorry I missed class but my girlfriend busted her elbow so I took her to the emergency room. Obviously this was all very last minute so I was not able to contact you. Have a good weekend.

Shorty after my professor replied:
I hope it wasn't too "busted"...elbows are important critters, especially when you are hungry.

That in it of itself is frankly hilarious but there is more, oh yes more. I showed this exchange to Sarah who thorghly enjoyed it and asked me to forward it to her mom. So I did... Her mom replied but not to me, oh no, she accedently sent her reply to my professor. It read like this:
Oh my, are these the professors we pay so much money for - not quite sure about this guy's sense of humor!
Let me know what is going on - I can get on a bus and go anytime this week..we are on our way home from Montreal - I will be back by the time she is done at the Dr.'s today. Thanks for taking such good care of her!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I still can't believe it is real. she quickly sent another email to my professor to mend things a bit:
Dear Professor Prans,

I realized that this email was being sent to you as I pressed the sent button. Please do not take offense to any of this - it was just a way of replying to Steve saying that I did not understand what you meant by your comments. However, the price of education is high, no question about that, but that certainly is not a personnal comment towards you - as I have never met you - I am not one to judge. I apologize if you took offense to any of this. Steve is a great guy - he took good care of Sarah for us and we truly appreciate his help. We also appreciate your understanding of Steve taking time the time away from your class - I am sure he will make up for it.

As well as I know my Sarah she found humor in your comments and that is why she wanted it forwarded to us.

Thank you for your understanding!
