Zambia Update #2

"This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, healthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God."
[2 Corinthians 9:10 ~ The Message]

After seven weeks of fundraising, I'm almost to my goal! Time for another thermometer :)

I've adjusted the goal to reflect the official amount listed on GAiN's website. I plan to cover the cost of traveler's insurance and vaccinations myself (thanks, plasma!), as I trust the Lord will provide the means necessary to do that. So, right now, I only need $150 to be paid in full! Half of my trip funds are due on April 27th, while the rest needs to be sent in by May 25th. Any extra gifts I receive will go directly towards GAiN's needs for this trip and ministries we encounter in Zambia. Thank you, again, to those of you that have donated financially or in lifting me up in prayer. I feel so loved and encouraged by you!

A few weeks ago, I submitted my deposit and registration form. Next month, I should get my initial packet of paperwork to complete along with more concrete plans of what we'll be doing in ministry. For example, GAiN's website has been updated to say that we'll be distributing water filters in four rural communities while sharing the Gospel. I'm excited to see what else God is organizing for our time there!

Finally, the trip dates have changed (hopefully for the last time) so we'll be gone from July 10th through the 21st. This means I'll miss my favorite summer holiday. What are the chances that I'll find a 7-11 in Lusaka, Zambia? I'll need to find a way to celebrate somehow. At the very least, maybe one of my dear cousins or friends can get me a traditional slurpee and freeze it until my return. :)

In related news, I'm starting my prayers now that Josh and Lyndsay's healthy baby girl will decide to make her appearance while I'm in the States.. I can't wait to meet her! Please pray for them as they prepare for their first precious gift from God. :)
