So about my night...

Brian and I headed over to Holly and John's new place, totally excited to check it out,.and then go eat burritos. When we get there (finally, because it just isn't a road adventure if Brian and Terianne don't get lost atleast ONCE) we're in the parking lot, trying to find the correct building when I (thankfully) spy John's car heading to parking. I'm looking at his car, looking at the directions in my hand, and competely MISS a huge gold Explorer with personalized Jimmy Buffet fan tags (Corey and Ann Marie). So, I blissfully unawaredly call out to John, give him a hug, we're just hanging out in the middle of the parking lot (at this point Corey has gotten back into the car and has driven away so  I don't see them) when Holly comes out of the apartment complex... followed by Mike. And I'm thinking "what the... well ok, cool! Mike's here!" Because I'm a ditz and didn't think "perhaps there's more Forumites as well..." so, we go into the house and are hanging out, when I realize Brian didn't come in with us, because he "left something in the car". We're standing in the kitchen with a really tasty batch of Chex Mix, when the door opens... and Savannah walks in (closely followed by her parents and my husband).  Oh. My. God. They all got together for me. For me! Excited does not begin; I mean, Mike had a killer drive to put up with, Savannah was up way past her bedtime (and, unsurprisingly, perfect the whole while... she really gravitated to Holly!) and Ann Marie, who has been suffering horrible prenatal headaches, stayed til 10. It was such a cool time, AND I got the most amazing ice cream cake ever. Not to mention a gorgeous necklace charm and Ann Marie found the most beautiful, unique birthday card.

All in all, a really fun time (at least for me. I think everyone got along well-- Holly and John are closet nerds, quoting Monty Python and getting into D6/D20 game talk :P). Brian and I imposed on them til almost midnight, talking and sipping the wine  they will have at their wedding (in almost a  month!). I got to  see Holly's dress  and pictures don't do the detailing on it justice. She's going to be such a vision!

Now, if only today can goes a third as well as last night. We're off to my MIL's house in a few hours for fun to celebrate: mom's graduation, mother's day, my mom's birthday, my birthday, Brian's birthday, Grandma E's birthday, father's day, and my niece Corrine's birthday. But, not Shawnee's birthday because that was 2 days before mother's day and just too early to lump in with everyone else's days. (As corey would say " I didn't hear anything after bitterbitterbitterbitterbitterbitterbitter....")

Thank you again SO much to everyone who made last night special. It was truly wonderful and meant the world to me! Holly did point out a scheduling conflict-- my "hooray I survived teaching" weekend celebration... the pottery painting is on Father's Day. And while no surprise I would block that fact out, I don't know your all's plans. Let me know!
