Horsepower of the steel variety...

The beloved Squadtruck went in today, not only for the usual oil/filter, but also for a heavy duty safety and your typical 100 000km fixes. New brake pads, tire realignment, "safetied" for my trailer, etc etc, more stuff you probably wouldn't bother reading. The price tag on the repair bill was somewhat frightening, but hey, I don't want the GIGANTIC ticket that comes with having an outdated safety sticker when I'm hauling someday. Anyway, Dad took me to look at the Colorados, since the parentals are thinking that my truck will be impractical at university next year, but they still want me in something a bit larger since I have to take the OMGTEHDEATHS highway to come home, and I'm going to be in big snow country. We were looking at this dark blue one specifically, but I was just kind of "meh" about it. Sure, it's got the new-car-shiny going for it, but other than that... It just doesn't really stand out for me. And then I got sidetracked by the so-very-pretty 07 Corvette in the display room. OOOH, SHINY!! Of course, it should be shiny, what with a base price of $80+ grand. But I got to pet it. And sit in it, since my uncle is a long time employee of the dealership. Wee bit of pull has its perks, lol! And then I got distracted by the new Silverados (the ones Dad's looking into getting) and the mass amounts of chrome on their display model (is pretty. Do want.)

So then yadda yadda yadda, further discussion of what to do with me & vehicles. I mentioned that if I wasn't going to be driving a truck (and apparently the Corvette was out of the question, no shocker there) that I am also fond of Jeeps. Now Dad is thinking that I can drive Squadtruck, he'll get New Truck, and instead of the initial plan for us to trade in a few years, I'll get a Jeep when (or maybe if) I graduate university.

Oh, and I got into the res I wanted at Trent! *does happy "I-have-horseshoes-up-my-ass" dance*. Although that would probably be very painful if it was taken literally.
And now on to studying for exams that I should've been preparing for weeks ago. Oopsie.

truck, school, life
