SO. I just arranged for three weekends off from work, from the middle of August through the beginning of September. I re-homed my Impala (;_;) and just bought a canopy for my truck, a AAA membership, and
this.
YEAH. ROAD TRIP, BITCHES.
My old roommate moved to Portland over the winter, so ostensibly this is a trip to visit her and her dog. In Portland, MAINE, that is. So I've got almost four weeks to drive clear across the country and back, just me and the dog and the open road.
I'll be sticking close to I-90 most of the way, but I know I definitely want to spend a day in Glacier National Park and a day in the Badlands. Other than that, though? I have no route set yet. I plan to have an air mattress in the back of the truck so I will not be beholden to motels or their dog policies (except when I want to shower or use the internet, lol).
So, hey, flist, I need your advice:
- Rec me some good road trip music. The stuff that makes you want to crank down the windows and hang an arm out as you're driving, trucker sunburn be damned. I only have a CD player in my truck, so-- albums pls.
- If you live in the Northern US, what's fun stuff to do in your area? Dog-friendly if possible! Hell, let's make this southern Canada too, I've got my passport, why the hell not.
- how much money should I set aside to pay speeding tickets
IN RETURN FOR YOUR ADVICE I would like to send you a postcard! It will be hand-drawn or painted unless I like get carpal tunnel from driving or something. There is also a non-zero possibility it will be covered in dog drool and hair, but w/ev.
Poll I PROMISE NOT TO STALK YOU FFFFFFF there are so many things I have to do and buy and it's still weeks away but I AM EXCITE.
