More like X-Men: Coach if you ask me!
/horrible airline industry joke
I had the weirdest experience watching this movie. It made me feel exactly the way I feel when I see an ugly puppy or kitten. I have to pet it. I have to scratch its ears and rub its belly and make stupid "AWW YOU'RE A DOGGIE/KITTY" noises at it because I'm an idiot for puppies and kittens. And then when I'm done I will be like "DAMN that thing was ugly! Better lock it in the basement and feed it paint chips for the rest of its life!" because I am a terrible and fickle person.
That's exactly how I felt watching X-Men First Class. During the movie it was all "aww yeah, superhero movie! BITCHIN' EXPLOSIONS!" and then when it was over I looked around and went, "Huh, I'm not sure that was any good at all." I think I just fundamentally don't get the appeal of the X-Men, though. It's probably a personal failing.
But I have to say, I would have watched a whole movie of Charles and Eric being bros and collecting mutants like Pokemon. GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!
I should probably start training now, in preparation for the train wreck that Green Lantern is going to be.
