"Fuyez un ennemi qui sait votre défaut."

I always find myself incredibly swamped with a buttload of work during December and this year, I caught strep throat before Christmas so I wasn't able to send out cards. However, I am sending out Christmas-themed New Year cards so to the lucky few who are getting them... extremely sorry but they are coming.

I cannot tell you how much I love the holidays :) The break is much needed and it gives me time to talk to all of you guys again. Plus, new movies *squees*!

I saw Atonement and Sweeney Todd yesterday with my friends. Atonement was the prettiest movie ever and all the performances were riveting. I NEED TO READ THE BOOK!!! Damn me and my short attention span :/ If you love Tim Burton, well, you would have seen Sweeney Todd already and there's no need for me to comment. Johnny Depp is as exceptional as always and Sacha Baron Cohen is fantastic. Go go see! I do need to go see Juno still since you guys keep raving about it... & a meme:

(stolen from fishness)
1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
Traveled abroad alone, Indoor Skydiving, Go Kart Racing!, applied for college, got a lead in a school musical, made it into the district choir, kissed on stage, met up with a LJ friend simply_strange, got kicked out of the house, called the cops... I'll think of more later.

2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next
year?
I didn't make a New Years' resolution but *crossing my fingers* that I find the willpower to give up solid chocolate ( I still need my hot cocoa!) and ice cream. I know, goodbye Ben & Jerry, my faithful lovers :(

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My cousin knocked up his girlfriend accidentally and now he has a kid. I'm not really sure he wants it though...

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No deaths in my life, thank God.

5. What countries did you visit?
Spent my summer in Vancouver, Canada. That was pretty sweet.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
A fantastic Chorus trip and adventures galore! And a pretty boy who isn't gay, married, perverted, stalker-esque, or momma's boy please :)

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December 16, 2007... I'll delve into my sob story later.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Executing two supporting roles in the spring musical and fall play to my expectations. And finally doing something about my problems at home. I stood up for myself, to the people that hurt me the most.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Trusting too easily and letting others get the best of me. Well, they still do but I now know the meaning of "protective barriers" with mistake after mistake. Oh, and Brett Battistelli. Urgh.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I began the year being dreadfully ill and ended the year dreadfully ill. The universe just hates me.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I'm not really sure, no purchases that made me ecstatic.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
One of my best friends, Michelle, finally gave someone unlikely a chance and now is completely in love. It's very touching :)

My father's. Literally, appalled and depressed.

14. Where did most of your money go?
FOOOD! (I'm a disgusting pig)

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Making it into the Massachusetts Northeastern District Choir after 5 long years of trying. Also, being accepted in the Rotary Youth Exchange program as my district's sole candidate. I'm taking a break year between high school and university and I've never been more excited!

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
CRANK THAT SOULJA BOY *supahmannnnnn*

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or Sadder? Same although last year i was happier in the friends aspect and sadder in the family life aspect and now it's just reverse.
Thinner or Fatter? Thinner
Richer or Poorer? Definitely poorer.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Study and actually do my work.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Stress over good-for-nothing "fake" friends who weren't worth my sanity to begin with.

Opening presents and being sick.

23. What was your favorite TV program?
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" is the world's most underrated show EVAH!!!

Yes, many actually. And its not petty dislike, I hate them to the deepest pits of hell.

... and I wish they all get fat.

25. What was the best book you read?
Please, don't kill me for this, but I discovered historical romance novels this year (the super-erotica kind!) There, I admitted my guilty pleasure!

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Jekyll & Hyde & a *bit* delayed, but Wicked!!! (crediting fishness)

Baz Luhrmann's Red Box Trilogy (it's super shiny ♥)

Spent it at a Filipino store and at my uncle's house in Vancouver having fun and eating... with random Filipino people.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Putting myself out there instead of living with all those what-ifs. And sleeping with Gaspard Ulliel.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Comfortable is key, but never crossed the line of slob. And I bought very cute shoes this year. GO ME AND MY INNER WOMAN!

33. What kept you sane?
My little excursion to Canada and true friends. And my wonderful sisters and kid-brother.

GASPARD ULLIEL *keels over in a hyperventilation fit*

36. Who did you miss?
No one really...

Dana, a girl from my summer abroad (if you count Canada as even remotely foreign in comparison to the USA) and if anything on LJ counts, downpour & thelackoflight!!!

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007?
If you want to be friends with everyone, you must be wary of everyone and be cautious. Otherwise, you'll end up the betrayed or the traitor in one situation or another.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"If Only."

PIMPING!!! colorbox's uber-sexy Gerry Butler picspam over here :)
*warning: gerry's hot arms may cause bout of dizziness and weak knees*
