Now that I'm unemployed, I find myself sitting around all day pumping my farms, zoo, fish tanks and mafia gang for money. What am I talking about? On FaceBook, I've now joined FarmVille, Farmtown, this cool online zoo thing at Birthday Cards, Happy Aquarium, FishWorld, and Mafia Wars. I'm most obsessed with the zoo and FarmVille. The thing is, you have to put a lot of effort in to make enough money to grow your farm/zoo/tank/gang -- visiting other people's farms and etc, doing little things like shaking trees at the zoos for coins. But it keeps the boredom at bay.
I'm also reading a great book called "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold, which has apparently also been made into a movie that I shall have to rent once I finish the book. It's narrated by a 14 year old girl who was raped and murdered by a man in her neighborhood, and she's looking down from a very unusual heaven and watching her family and the investigation into her death. It sounds morbid but it's not -- I'm loving it. The girl's view of the world is quirky and always interesting. I'm only on page 47 so far but I recommend it.
My tummy is getting better, btw. I only eat one Tums upon waking, and none during the rest of the day.
On the job front, that job opportunity seems to have fizzled. She called twice (both times after 5 pm, oddly) and I called her back twice, and there's been nothing since. I guess I blew that one, but I'm okay with it.
