It's hilarious... I got a phone call on Friday afternoon from my Aunty Shelly asking me to come in on Monday to answer phones for the afternoon in the law office... Sure, of course! So now I'm calling myself the 'answering service' and I get to tell people who ask questions that I don't know the answers to that I know nothing because I'm just an answering service. It's fabulous! And, I'm getting paid for it. I was happy about that, because I was supposed to park in their parking ramp, but it was blocked off by a backhoe, and so I had to park in the Holiday Inn parking ramp on the freakin' fifth floor and then walk down the stairs to 3rd Ave. West because I was too big of an idiot to just take the elevators to the 2nd floor of the Holiday Center and walk down the back steps. You bet I'll not be making that mistake again.
It's been a sort of uneventful weekend, and I'm thankfully still in the fabulous mood I've been in for over a week. I don't know why, but I've been keeping the house clean (voluntarily) and not being icky about having to do it... I'm going to try and get what's called a Quick Cash loan through work, every employee is guaranteed one for $300 just for being employed... I figure $300 could help us find a different apartment. We're so sick of this one. Our ghetto medicine cabinet fell off the wall Saturday morning, and because Val rigged it we can't get it back up without drilling holes into the outside frame of the cabinet. *rolls eyes* If we were mean, not-very-nice folkeses, we could call housing and have the place declared unfit for human occupancy - I'm sure it'd qualify. I hate the friggin place, but our landlord is a really, really nice guy. It's probably why he's selling the palce - he's sick of having to do all these repairs when he really just wants to spend his time with his kids. And I don't blame him one little bit.
I have heartburn... And I want chicken nuggets from Mcdonald's. Perhaps I'll pick some up for dinner. I don't know how much the check is, though. I'm waiting until the bankruptcy lawyer, Pat, leaves to check it. I don't know why, but I feel awkward. If it's your place of employment it's different to open the envelope and check it, but not so much if you're just doing a favor to them and getting paid for it. So here I sit, listening to what has to be Kool 101.7 because they keep playing the oldies, and relaxing in a nice, comfy chair. And waiting to see if Dana emails me back from work since we've both got 3 hours left to go.
It's memorial day weekend this weekend and I've so far got no plans... Jessi's birthday is on Saturday, but I don't know if we're doing anything. Dana's coming up to town and going to stop by to spend some time with Caden and Evan and I... Ooh! Footloose just came on! It makes me want to bop in my chair. :)
