Press conference with Bush and the Prime Minister of Iraq
So i came home today for my lunch, and watched cnn like i usually do whenever i'm eating. It just so happened to be a press conference with President Bush and the Prime Minister of Iraq. Bush talked alot about the Prime minister, how he was a great guy and shit, and he does seem like it i guess. Bush's whole point of this press conference was to try to work on the countries lowering support of the war in Iraq, since we're still there over 2 years after we started. The prime minister started out talking in english, what sounded to me like something we told him to say, but then again how the hell would i know. He then changed to his language(i'm afraid i'm not sure what he speaks), and talked about appointing women to the Iraqi government. Thats incredible, and very unexpected on my part. But what really pissed me off was when an american reporter asked Bush how he and Dick Cheney keep saying that we're making progess, and that the insurgents are "In there last throughs" when the leaders of our fucking army say otherwise. President bush is briefed every day by the leaders of our army, who have said over the past week that the insurgents are just as strong as they've ever been, and that we're not getting rid of them. What do bush and cheney say? Well, we're doing fine, there almost gone. How can you say that? They are fucking blind. We have people in the white house who are insane and live in their own fantasy world. Maybe the oil is blinding them, or maybe they really do want to spread democracy so bad that that is blinding them to the death and maiming happening in that country. I'm not even just talking about our boys in the army, what about all the innocent iraqi's being killed? But now we're stuck, so maybe thats their goal, keep on trucking as they used to say. We have no choice but to stay and try to take em out, and i wish our army the best of luck doing it. It's just a shame we didn't try diplomatic means first, wouldn't that have been great, ya know, doing what the pres said he was going to in the first place. Today i've also started wondering whats the point in even caring about this shit. Could i go into politics and make a difference, get my view across, be a fair and just senator? Truthfully, no. How can you get power if your fair and just? This is the inhernet problem with democracy, mainly capitalist democracy. So what to do? Bitch on livejournals. Hey, at least i might be able to get a couple laughs. Other then that, vote. And don't just vote for a certain party. Democrats suck too, but be and educated voter. There's an election coming up in novemeber, just as important as the pres, remember the senators and house representatives make laws, they don't put them into effect, but they do decide what laws go to the pres for finilization.
