I think I could turn this into a stand-up routine

I'm probably going to get unnecessarily bitchy in this post, and I'm not going to apologize for that, I just want you to take this with a grain of salt because of that. Really. I'm not that bitter over it. I'm just drunk. That's all ( Read more... )

Sye! Long time, no see! Great to hear from you!

As for your reply, see my reply to those amazing tomatoes above. You're right, for the most part, but Jiminy actually said to me, "I won't lie to you, it's the color. Stop wearing it." The bald-faced effrontery of it kinda threw me for a loop, but I took it in stride, thinking that it wouldn't get to me and he couldn't do anything about it, anyway. Well, I was correct on the former, but incorrect on the latter. What's more, he shouldn't really be making these comments to me in the first place.

As for settling the matter with him, normally I would, but I don't know if I could keep my verbiage in check. If he defended his actions at all, I'd point out the blatant sexism of his original statement. If he tried to defend that, I'd be over his desk, he'd be out the window, and then I'd be out the door. Furthermore, I shouldn't be in such a position with my superiors in the first place, precisely because they're my superiors and that makes "normal communication" something of a contradiction in terms.

Thank you for the input, though. My usual approach is simply useless here, that's all. Have a good one!

Always a pleasure, man. I may not comment all that much, but I generally enjoy reading your bloggin'.

I totally understand the worries of keeping oneself in check. If you can keep the presence of mind, though, it's best to try and just.. GEt into the dance with him.

Pull a verbal "Be like water." and flow around whatever he says, directing him to a specific region of speech that will either A) make him quit being a bigoted ass, or B) make him say something that'll cause him to lose his job. He is, after all, "superior" in title only. I don't mean this in blind flattery, but I'd be willing to say that in most any other circumstance between you and this dude, you'd have him trumped.

Or, y'know, you could go with what you were planning on doin'. Either way. *LOL*

As a side-note, I really gotta hook back up with you sometime and hang out, or call, or something. It's been a while, man, and t'was always fun.

Take it easy.
