I’m not here to make you decide what to vote. Do your own research for that. I’m here to tell you why I’m AFRAID of the conservatives getting in.
Aaaand it's time to bitch about the election again :)
So here's the deal.. The conservatives (who don't even deserve to be capitalized) are just ridiculous. You want to know why? Heeere we go..
1) They want to get rid of same sex marriage
2) They want to get rid of abortion
3) Apparently Mr. Thomas Flanagan is part of the conservative inside and holds great influence on the party. "Mr. Flanagan, who was born and raised in the United States, has spent most of his career arguing against the rights and self-government aspirations of Aboriginal peoples in Canada. Mr. Flanagan has published numerous articles and a book entitled 'First Nations? Second Thoughts' to support his proposition that Aboriginal peoples should be assimilated." ..... I don't think I need to say another word about that one.
4) First Nations recently made a deal on the residential school resolution, there is supposed to be a one-time lump sum payment to all residential school survivors. The court system would take too long to process all of the cases. The conservatives said they won’t go through with the deal if elected.
Election 06
SOMETHING WORTH THINKING ABOUT
Hello.
My name is Stephanie Roberts I am a Canadian. One voter out of millions of Canadian voters. And I'm replying to this jerk's email. I'm in parenthesis. I'm not a political person either. I don't give a shit that the liberals rose taxes, because there isn't a damn thing to complain about otherwise. Yeah the gas is expensive, but I'd rather pay that then the price of my freedoms. I will NOT vote for a party that plans to remove Same Sex Marriage or Abortions just to get the Catholic vote. Those are my rights, and if the conservatives get in I will scrape the Maple Leaf tattoo off my back and flee the country.
Paul Martin is no friend of mine. Liberal governments have not made my life any better. Liberal governments have made the future worse for my children. (Actually my friend.. the CONSERVATIVE Mike Harris made your children's future bleak. The idea of this new curriculum is nice, but I went through it. They made me decide my future in grade 7. Way too much pressure. When my plans didn't work out, my life came crashing down. THAT left me with no hope.)
Jean Chretien and the Liberal Party became Prime Minister many years ago.
Guess who was the Liberal Finance Minister.....Paul Martin...LEST WE FORGET
Since 1993:
(1) My taxes have increased. (Any party would have had this happen.. If you keep demanding things, they need the money to finance it.)
(2) My family's share of the national debt has increased. (Refer to above)
(3) My personal expenses have increased. (You're getting me really angry here, moron.)
(4) My waiting time to see a doctor has increased. (WE'RE OVERPOPULATED! Go kill some people then we'll talk. And you live in a country with awesome health care. Go to the states and get taken care of in a hospital... and spend $800 to find out you have an ingrown toe nail.)
(5) My concerns for my family's safety have increased. (WHY?! Guns? Oh my.. Well the conservatives want more "army" in the cities. So have fun with that, asshole.)
(6) My costs to educate my children have increased. (Probably because it costs a lot of money to pay the professors..)
(7) Government interference in my life has increased. (BULLSHIT!)
(8) My personal debt has increased. (You said that already, jerkface.)
(9) My income has stayed more or less the same. (Well maybe you should do a better job, or get a new one. Don't blame your self dis-satisfaction on the government.)
(10) My savings have decreased. (Stop spending?)
(11) The buying power of my dollar, in Canada, has decreased. (... You fucking idiot. That's WORLD economy.)
(12) The value of my dollar, in the U.S., has decreased. (Refer to above.)
(13) My trust of elected officials has decreased. (That's your problem. Mine hasn't.)
(14) My trust in the justice system has decreased. (Why?)
(15 )My trust in the immigration system has decreased. (OH NO! NOT ARABS! Fuck you, buddy. Canada is awesome, and you're insulting my nation.)
(16) My hope that a Liberal won't waste my tax dollars has decreased. (ANY POLITICIAN WOULD! Hold on, any HUMAN with free money would, jackass. Greed is a bitch, get over it.)
(17 )My dreams for a better future for my kids, in Canada, have disappeared. (OH NO! BECAUSE EVERYONE GETS SHOT AND WE ALL DIE HORRIBLE DEATHS! Wake up. Canada is the best place to grow up.)
That is my story since the Liberals came to power. (And this is why I think you're a fucking moron.)
I am not voting for Paul Martin's Liberals. I am voting against Paul Martin and his Liberal Party in January. (Good for you.)
I am voting for Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party. (MORON!!!)
Do I like the Conservatives? Not particularly......I don't really like Politics. I am not political by nature. I am not passionate about politics. (Oh that's a good reason to vote..) I am a middle age guy (48). I live in a small house on a fairly quiet streetin Edmonton. I have a wife, Kathy, and two children (ages 19 and 17). I have no pets. I am a middle class man. I don't usually say too much. (Then maybe you should keep your mouth shut now. You don't know anything about this, clearly.)
Until now. (duun duun duuuuuun)
Now I am going to say something!
In 35 of the past 37 years, Canada has been ruled by:
(1) Pierre Trudeau - a multi-millionaire lawyer from Quebec.
(2) Brian Mulroney - a multi-millionaire lawyer from Quebec.
(3) Jean Chretien - a multi-millionaire lawyer from Quebec.
(4) And now we are going to vote for Paul Martin???? - a multi-millionaire lawyer from Quebec??? (OH MY GOD! Coincidences mean the devil, guys.. )
The leader of the Conservative party, Stephen Harper, is:
(1) Not a lawyer.
(2) Not a multi-millionaire.
(3) Not from Quebec. (Then maybe he doesn't know how to run a country.)
Stephen Harper says that the Conservative party will: (SO DID THE LIBERALS!! People say things.. And people are dishonest. I'm so glad you were paid to write this email.)
(1) Reduce my taxes. (Oh ok.. but then you'll bitch because some public service was taken away.)
(2) Pay off the national debt as fast as they can. (With the money they DON'T have from giving you less taxes? Who is pressuring Canada to pay debts, anyway. We're the most trusted country in the world.)
(3) Shrink the size and influence of the federal government. (How does that help, exactly? Less people to listen to all you stupid people bitching about this or that.. when it's your fault for demanding for something else? Don't get me wrong, gas prices are pissing me off. The money is needed somewhere else. Yeah it would be AWESOME if the government ran like a well oiled machine and everything worked out.. These people are only human.)
That's good enough for me. I'm going to give the Conservative party a chance with my
vote. (Because you're a moron.)
But wait! Paul Martinis now saying the same thing. My mother told me forty years ago: "Fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice - shame on me!" (Fool me three times and the same thing happens - nothing. People have no conviction.)
The Liberals have had 34 years to be financially responsible. Remember, Jean Chretien was Trudeau's Finance Minister. Remember also, Paul Martin was Jean Chretien's Finance Minister These people have been raising my taxes for thirty four years. They have been mis-spending my tax dollars for 34 years. (Prove it. Then prove that another finance minister would do any better..)
And now Paul Martin says he'll stop taxing and spending. No way. Thank you for reading my story so far! (They're people pleasers, because you're a bunch of mindless assholes.)
Why am I telling my story to you? Although I feel alone, I know that I am not alone. Your story may be similar to mine. And you may also feel alone. One small voter in the midst of millions of voters. (Ohh boo hoo I'm alone.)
What can you and I do together to change things? (I KNOW! I KNOW! VOTE!)
Here is my idea: Lets you and I join up together. Just you and I. Together. As a small team of two.
How can you and I fight a huge political machine? (... They're ALL huge political machines.)
You and I have two things that we can use:
(1) Our individual personal connections.
(2) The Internet.
The Internet is supposed to be this globalizing tool, right? Let's put it to use.
I have 27 Canadians in my personal e-mail address book. I am sending this
e-mail to each of them.
I'm asking you to do two things:
(1) Forward this e-mail to every Canadian in your own address book.
(2) Vote against Paul Martin and the Liberal Party in January of this year. (How about you inform yourself by reading platforms and doing research, THEN decide.)
Vote for the Conservative candidate in your riding. (Please don't. To be honest, I'm afraid of becoming the next USA.)
I have probably written this e-mail too late. As I said I am not politically adroit. I feel like Peter Finch, in the 1976 movie "Network", when he shouted: "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!" (ooh ho, now let's try to make everyone laugh and feel comfortable. You disgust me.)
Please, forward the e-mail RIGHT NOW!!
I hope the Internet is as fast as some people claim it is.
This may not work. This e-mail may "fizzle out" and go nowhere. But you and I will have tried, won't we have? (oooh you're so polite.)
My best wishes to you. My best wishes to Canadians everywhere.
My thanks to David Stokes from Toronto He actually wrote this just (5) days before the last federal election. Fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice - shame on me!" Alan Robberstad Edmonton, Alberta . (I'm sorry to have insulted you, but this is making me angry.)
Rebuttal me. I'm up for the argument.
