From the time I was 15 until last year about this time I had worked at 3 different jobs. In the course of this year I've had 6. In one year I worked double the amount of jobs than I did in 6 years. That's nuts!!!! I seem so unstable!!!! But anyway... Tomorrow is my last day at Value City and I couldn't be happier!!!! The only thing that I'm going to miss is my DSW discount!!!!!! I hate that place with such a passion. I even considered going back to Central Transport!!!! That's just down right bad!!! Thankfully I didn't have to resort to that... I got a job with Flagstar Bank and I start on Monday!!!!! I have training all next week in Troy. Thankfully it's spring break so I don't have classes and I'll be able to train!!! It's suppose to be 2 weeks but I'm skipping the second week and starting at the branch then when I get another free week I have to go back to Troy for the second week of training but by that time I'll pretty much know most of what they go over for the second week. Speaking of training, my manager at Andiamo keeps asking me when I have free time because he really wants me to get on the floor and start serving. I would love to start serving there but I really don't have the time to train until after school is out unless he wants to make up some kind of special training schedule for me!! I think he's considering it!!! I'm also still bartending at Terry's. It's nothing regular anymore, basically I've been picking up Friday or Saturday night shifts based on which day I work at Andiamo. I can't wait until I'm done with school and I can find a steady job with normal hours. It'll be such a relief. I'll been doing a lot of looking around for a job once I graduate and I've found some really good ones!!! My dream job would be to work at the Google headquarters in Mountain View, CA as a Human Resources Specialist this is what it would include:
*Assisting with the 401(k) audit and non-discrimination testing.
*Responsible for day to day activities on the 401(k) plan.
*Responsible for leave of absence, knowledgeable on different state and federal laws.
*Responsible for workers compensation: trending, prevention, and audit.
*Responsible for the flex plans.
*Working directly with all levels of employees throughout the company to answer benefit inquiries and claims resolution with carriers, responding to tickets, etc.
*Working cross functionally to continuously improve systems and process improvement.
*Back up on billing process.
*Work closely with vendors to coordinate service levels and ensure quality.
*Responsible for monthly Google Baby Showers and Doctor seminars.
*Responsible for on-boarding of merger and acquisitions.
*Maintain updates on intranet.
I'm so in love with that job!!!! Google is also ranked the best company to work for by Fortune 500. It's just great. The down side...California is super expensive. I found a decent apartment in the area but eventually I would want to buy a house and there's nothing that wonderful in that area but it all costs a lot of money. Another company I really like is SAS in North Carolina. I think I'm leaning more towards this one because it pays really well and North Carolina is a lot more realistic financially. There's a few others but those two are my favorites!!! I don't really know for sure what I want to but whatever I do it's not going to be in Michigan and that's all that I do know!!!
So since tomorrow is my last day at VC I went out today and used my discount card for the last time... I bought a zebra and red duffel bag (so loud and obnoxious i.e., so me) a new pair of Adidas running shoes, a new pair of black Nine West pumps, and Steve Madden navy, peep-toe wedges from DSW. Then I hit VC and got a pair of American Eagle boys shorts (they're so much more comfortable than girls shorts!!!), 2 tank tops, a purse to match my new Steve Maddens, a cute little white zip-up hoodie, and a a light blue and silver long sleeve shirt. I probably spent too much money but I can at least justify everything I bought at DSW!!! And I think I desire a mini-shopping spree.
So, it's spring break now. My senior spring break!!!! Rachel and I are taking a road trip (part of the reason I bought my new duffel bag)!!! I'm so excited!!!! I wish we could take a long road trip someplace but we're just going to do the same thing we did for her senior spring break... We're going to Traverse City for the weekend!!!! We had a blast last time we went and I wasn't even 21 yet so now that's we're both of age we're going to stay downtown and hit up the local bars for St. Patty's Day!!! We're big nerd but it'll be cool. We're taking my car because it'll be a lot better on gas than her car; so for that reason I cleaned it out today and washed it!! It looks like a brand new car!!! I still have to Windex the windows and wipe the inside of the doors down but it's so much better!!!!
I've been really productive lately and I really hope that I can keep that up!!!!
