hiking
Ok, we left Friday morning and drove down to north conway. We ended up having a little change in plans. The original plan, was to hike 4 miles and camp at the top of a mountain, then hike 6 miles over the three targeted mountains (Mt. pierce, Mt. eisenhower, and Mt. franklin) and then bike 10 miles back to our car. But, as we were driving up there we heard on the weather forecast that it was supossed to be thunderstormy the whole time so we decided to either turn around and drive back home, or stay at a campground and do day hike the next day. We decided to stay overnight at a campground.
We managed to find a campground that wasnt full and stay the night. we were dissapointed (well...me and my dad were) because we only got a small amount of rain. there were no thunderstorms at all. And when we woke up this morning, it was the perfect day out. so we could have gone along with our trip after all! >:[ We went along and decided to get two other mountains knocked off the list while we were up there. (after all north conway is about 2 hours away) We did Mt. Willey and Mt. Field. I have to say, Mt. Willey was one of the coolest trails ive hiked in a while. It was really steep the whole way up but i liked it and it had cool wooden ladders for like 500ft!
Anyways that was about a 7 mile hike total and since we had slowpoke nick and emily with us..it took us about 6 hours. By the way, i was wrong about being at my halfway mark, ive only done 23 so far, i need to do one more to be at my halfway mark. Ok, these are the mountains i have hiked on my list:
