My first try on Davichi despite me loving them so much.
There are a lot of differences between being an idol and not being an idol.
For one, non-idol singers don't get as much privileges as idols do. No own waiting room, no special stages every month, no grand performances. Two, they don't sell as much as idols do. Why? Because they don't have catchy songs and fancy dance steps. They don't wear flashy clothes and do crazy hairstyles. Three, non-idol singers form a group of at most three to four members which means less the fun. And four, they can't have everything.
They get what they're given and they don't complain. It's how the music industry works. One's status in the music industry pyramid depends on one's popularity, catchy songs, popping dance steps and out of this world clothes.
Lee Haeri knows this much.
Being in a ballad duo with a girl much younger than her is not all cakes and rainbows. They work hard, they struggle and they try to keep up. It's hard and exhausting and sometimes, Haeri thinks it's utterly ridiculous.
But never has Haeri thought of quitting.
Because with the many sited differences (Advantages of being an idol) between being an idol and a non-idol singer, there is one that Haeri has to disagree with.
Contrary to popular belief, not being idol is not lonely.

Granted, Minkyung is 5 years her junior but the younger girl is always too mature. She behaves well on performances and appearancesvand is a real professional. Minkyung is so professional about her work which is probably why Haeri cares more for her each passing day.
The sight of her junior's flawless beauty makes Haeri sigh in contentment. She sees her work hard and it pushes Haeri to work harder. She sees a smile from Minkyung and Haeri smiles brighter.
