Utah

I never thought I would say this about the west, but I love Utah. Maybe I don't love Utah, maybe I love Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and that love carries over to Utah. So far, after only the first week of my internship, I love this place. The people are friendly to strangers (unlike home!) everyone wants to help you. There isn't as much ego involved in the care of the animals as in most places. With animals everyone has the same goal - great care for them - but everyone has different and they think "the best" way of providing that care.

While that sort of thing is inevitable with animals, it is much much less here. There is so much less ego involved and lots of compassion involved. I would love to give you detailed summaries of what I've been up to here but in only one week of work there is just too much to say. Instead I'm providing links to my facebook pictures that I've taken, and there will be plenty more to come.

Also, I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the following phrase:
"Everything will be just tickety boo today"
This phrase popped up in a fortune cookie and I think it means everything will be just fine today, I have never in my life heard of the phrase "tickety-boo" so if anyone knows the meaning or has a good guess I would be thrilled to hear it.
