Fish

We almost borrowed Warren's neighbor's canoe in order to go outside tonight.
There was so much water that a river was running down from the Froedtert parking lot through Warren's yard and into the street.  The cops or some other emergency official put a bale of hay in the road to keep people from running ashore on the curb.  I hear they even closed Watertown Plank at one point.
But here's the important part of this story.
At about 8:00, hunger finally drove us from Warren's house.  I heard that 45 was closed at Center street, and that the Watertown Plank on ramp was closed, so I decided to take 124th toward my house...since I needed a bra and pants to replace my very wet clothing.
At the intersection of H2Otown plk and highway 100, we noticed that 100 was closed all the way up to Wisconsin ave due to a knee-deep lake crossing the road.
The culverts on 124th street were flooded nearly up to road level.  At 124th and Hampton, Warren asked if the Butler Webb's was still opened, so I took a left rather suddenly to see.  It was closed up.
Proceding west on Hampton ave, just past the Thomas Kinkaide Showcase store, a creek had overflowed its banks and charted a new course.
...right through the road.
There was no room to turn around, and this was the river with no Indian guide to pay or trade sweaters for assistance with crossing, so I quickly decided to caulk the wagon and ford.  As we slowly proceded through, Warren suddenly pointed and shouted:
"THERE WAS A FISH!!!!"
That's right.  A fish swam in front of our car.  Not a minnow or something.  No.  Like a frigging mackeral or trout or something.  It was THIS BIG *makes "fishing story gesture*
It was amazing.
A fish.
Swam.
Across the road.
