this is why i HATE doctors.

so i'm kinda worried. my dad got hip replacement surgery yesterday, and until a couple of hours ago i thought that everything had gone according to plan. i called mama just to say hi at about 9, and she asked me if i had talked to dad in the past few hours. i said no, and then she told me that the doctor who performed his hip replacement did the wrong surgery on him. he was supposed to get a minimally invasive surgery, where afterwards he would be able to go back to doing everything he used to do (running, swimming, etc.) and where he would be standing on his own and walking the day after the surgery. instead he got a full standard hip replacement surgery so now he will have to use a walker for god knows how long, he'll have to go through a ton of intense physical therapy and somewhat relearn how to walk, maybe even have to stay in a rehabilitation center for a while. he might never be able to run or play sports ever again. my dad is not 85 years old and decrepit...he's a very active 55 year old guy. he thought that this surgery would fix all of his problems, and now it might be that it just made everything worse. we have to see what the doctor says, but he didn't go in to see dad today even though he made his rounds on his floor. mom thinks that he is avoiding them because he knows that he performed the wrong surgery. i told my mom that she should get all of the paperwork that they filled out before the surgery that said what they were going to do to him and contact a lawyer. i don't know, i guess we just have to wait and see what happens.
