I'm not a prolific writer...

...and an even worse blogger.

Update:

I "resigned" from art directing Shimmer last year. Time was always getting away from me and I was making their extended schedule even more extended. I didn't have the time. Also, I still work as a graphic designer all day and, after doing this for 40 years, I'm really tired of it. I intended to spend that time writing fiction and drawing, and for the most part I have.

I've been attending a life drawing session at the University of Oregon on Saturdays. I've known since art school that there is no substitute for life drawing, but it is always easier and more convenient to use a photograph as a reference. If I keep my hand/eye active with life drawing, then a drawing from a reference photo has more "life" to it.

I've been struggling with a novel.

Leslie and I just went to Yachats for a week. Usually when we've gone to the coast I've spent most of the leisure time reading. This time I was able to get my short story inventory in shape so I can start sending them out. Most of them have never been submitted. Life happens. I have five or six ready to go now, with about 15 others needing a bit more polish. I'll either sell them or do what other writers are now doing and (after they go through the markets) publish them as an eBook anthology.

I'm reading Julie Phillips' Biography of James Tiptree Jr - The Double Life of Alice. B. Sheldon. Fascinating.

Maybe I'll post more often than once every three years.
