(no subject)
Thank God the weekend is over :)
So I had my first con on the “inside” of the table…
I only sold six shirts (three were of tink) But I had 20 people com up to me and pay me for convention sketches.. That was neat! (and that’s not counting the folks who just wanted me to do a quick doodle in there autograph book)
Lesse… the 20
1) The best superman I ever drew.. sad to see ‘em go
2) The thing
3) HarlyQuinn (again, very proud of it)
4) A wizard
5) An anime girl
6) Boobies (that’s what the mom of two kids asked me for, so I drew a naked elf)
7) A ninja (a nice guy asked me for this, and the following one)
8) A normal tink (I had no reference on me, so that was a bit hard)
9) A “dark fairy”
10) Another sexy fairy
11) A guy in 60’ styled power armor
12) A chick on fire with a rock bikini
13) Another fairy (see a trend?)
14) An Anime Chicken
15) A monkey with a knife
16) Doctor strange
17) Doctor Doom
18) A girl
19) And 20, two more fairies.
Julie changed my prices for a sketch on Sunday (from $2 to $5) but the work didn’t slow down.
I met Raven Gregory, a cool guy who writes “The Gift” for image comics. We hung out all weekend. He wants to see my color work on some pencils. So Dose Mario Gully who works on “Ant”. Along with a small company who works on “bubba the red-neck were wolf” So that lifts my spirits up! I still wish I was a better artist.. I’m starting to focus on penciling more now.. practice practice practice.
I’m working on Runepunk now, trying to get stuff finished up - probably manage it by tomorrow.. Then on to some stuff for Mongoose- they want me to draw more drow, and I’m happy to help.
The only picture I drew that I kept this weekend was one of Frankenstein. I plan on inking it, or maybe see if I can get Photoshop to look like colored pencil and give one to Gen and hang one in Andi’s room.. we shall see..
Any other odd notes? Jim Steranko is awesome, and the text book definition of class. Sala Baker is tall, but shorter then Derrick Fish (who illustrates “dandy and company” on line. And who was great to hang with and have a table next to all weekend- I need to hang out with him more often) Sala also doesn’t head butt as hard as Mark, apparently. The Maniac cop is very needy, apparently. Darth mall will leap a table to hug a small (4 year old) fan. Ernie Hudson is scared of geeks. And I scared a Nude model by being up front enough to ask her to were one of my shirts at the next con.
All the guests were great, and despite the low attendance and lack of shirt sales, a good time was had by all..
