Well, I'm not really supposed to be writing in this, cuz I promised myself I'd take a break from virtual reality, but as I sit here typing w/ my nine good fingers I realize that lately many of my friends have been depressed for one reason or another. Personally, I think much of it has to do w/ this crappy weather we've been having, but I decided to take the problem to an expert.
Dr. Phil, a certified "Life Strategist" may look like he rapes small children, but he does give some sound advice. Now, I've taken some liberty with his words, here, but only because if I didn't, this entry would sound extremely homosexual.
People, your life lasts what, 70, 80 years on average? Now a lot can happen in that amount of time, but in the big picture, that's a pretty short run. What I'm saying is, we don't have the time or patience for this regret crap. Something happens to you you don't like, you get through it and move on. Oh I know the difficulty of this theory. Believe me, I've been there, and if you're one of the few people I've dragged aside for a good two hours to explain my story, you know I'm telling the truth. But what I figured out was this, if we spend all our time thinking about what could have been, we'll miss what's coming up next. Yeah, I know this sounds like some disney channel 'Boy Meets World" episode, but I actually liked that show, until they all went to college and Tapanga got a little chunky, and the marriage thing? No, it would have been better if they ended the series with the entire cast going to Hawaii and then their plane crashes over the Pacific and they all go down in a blaze of glory. Wow, ok, that went a little off subject, but really, your life is up to you, you get to make it into whatever you want. Ignore the assholes in life and keep looking for the people that will really care about you. Luckily, we all have friends to help us get through the rough times, so use those people to your advantage, but be sure to return the favor. But anyway, I hope this weather clears up
and remember these two things, live your life to the fullest (Carpe Diem, or Living La vida loca, whichever you prefer) and seriously, never name your kid Tapanga.
