Now is the time that we dance to sprockets!
It's football time, which likely means this journal will now be filled with progress reports on my fantasy football team. Sorry. You've been spared the fantasy baseball updates (#1 in 2 leagues, in playoffs right now in the other) and ego-stroking posts about my genius.
Not here. I think I'm going to do my best to give a hint at what its like to delve into this mad world of fantasy sports.
This story started about 3 months ago, when I picked up my first (of 5) fantasy football magazines. Then, whenever I gained control of the remote, it was flipped to ESPN to catch training camp highlights. I began to write a statistical analysis program to give me an edge over my league-mates (and friends).
I visit 3-4 football related websites a day (progress reports, injuries, trades, and rumors). I read 2 fantasy football chat columns.
I am literally breathing football into my lungs. It's probably worse for my health than crack.
This Sunday, marks our draft. Lots of insults will be hurled, burgers will be grilled, and 12 wannabe coaches will field a team of dreams.
I love this time of year.
