Nature's Riddles

Question: If a tree falls in your backyard and nobody's around, does it make a sound?

Answer: Honestly, we're still not sure. But it did make quite the mess.

For those of you not living in the Northeast, let me tell you, on Friday, it was pretty windy. And by "pretty windy" I mean, more trees came down than I've ever seen before. Way more than the few "major" hurricanes that made it up this way. At least that I remember. I was rerouted four times on my way home from work and it added an extra 30 minutes to my drive. I was told a tree had fallen near my house. Little did I know, that a tree had also fallen in my backyard.

Here's some photographic proof.

This is where the tree used to stand. Now he does a lot of lying down.

Don't tell my dad about how the tree really came down.

Just took one swing. I'm that ripped.

OOoooh, damage.

It went right through the pool deck my daddy built 18 years ago.

Managed to go straight through both sides without hitting the pool or house.

And here you can see it took out the rail on the staircase of the upper deck, too.

And another.

No more tree.

I have conquered nature. (And for the record, my bladder control issues, too.)
