Rocky//Punch-Out!!
In December, my mother was diagnosed with cancer.
I found out this past December, sitting in my grandfather's office over Christmas. Since then, she's had a total hysterectomy and three rounds of chemo (of six). Specifically, it was stage 1c ovarian cancer - not considered nearly as serious as it could have been - so the family has been optimistic throughout the past several months. I've only spoken about it with a handful of people outside of the family, and the swath of social media is a bit too intimidating to state over Facebook. Maybe that's why I'm more comfortable writing it here (who else even regularly reads their friends page?). Some of you still post. I visited home after a wedding in Covington, KY for a belated birthday celebration.
It's been almost a year now. I'm in a new apartment and have finally been able to set up a personal library. Abby and I are traveling to Madrid and Barcelona in April, and we just celebrated our first year together last month.
In November, I played my last show with Arc Impulse at Emporium Arcade Bar. The crowd was killer, and I couldn't have possibly asked for a better sendoff than to be in the company of so many friends, my family who came up from Ohio, and the incredible musicians in Super Guitar Bros and Playing with Power. My departure from the band was amicable, for a host of reasons, and I wish them all the best with the project as it continues. Jer has also since take indefinite leave from the band, leaving it under the leadership of Andrew and Chris.

I wrote the music for a mobile app game that came out last month: Crush Hour. You play the role of a vindictive traffic cop, and the goal is to crash as many cars together as you can that are of the same color.

137 Films completed a short film, This Has Been to Space, which documents a group of kids and astrophysicists who send a balloon into space as a part of the Adler Planetarium's Far Horizons program. It premiered February 27 to a great reception at the Planeterium, and I hope there will soon be a way for the rest of the public to get a chance to see it. I'm very proud of the final result, full of the youthful energy and enthusiasm for science that's only becoming more and more important in education's constantly varying landscape. We were also able to present at this year's AAAS Conference (American Association for the Advancement of Science) in a standing-room-only session.

Time Crash is on schedule to release its first full length album this year after a successful Kickstarter campaign and some of the most efficient recording sessions I've ever heard. We have rough tracks for the whole record and can't wait to nail down a release date.
