The Unkindest Cut of All
Just bought Season 1 of The Muppet Show on DVD. The first episode I watched featured Vincent Price as the guest.
I remember this episode well as one of my favourites, particularly the skit in which a heavily made up Price, surrounded by Muppet monsters, sings "You've Got a Friend"... and for reasons I can't even guess at, this sketch is not on the DVD. I even wondered whether I'd imagined it - after all, I've imagined weirder stuff - until I checked the intro, and it shows a shot of Price doing the sketch!
The episode contains other skits that are much less entertaining that they could have cut (did anyone ever laugh at Wayne and Wanda, or the talking houses that continually rehash the same joke?): why is that bit missing?
Fortunately, I've now found it on YouTube. Good to know I wasn't hallucinating.
