The people in Brittian and the United States (hey thats YOU) decided it
would be great to make a film out of The Hitchhikers Guide to the
Galaxy (IMDB:
http://imdb.com/title/tt0371724/) so i decided to post a
few of my favorite quotes from the book.
"The Story so far: In the Begining, the Universe was created, this has
made a lot of people very angry and has been widly regarded as a bad
move."
"The Universe is Big, REALLY Big. You just won't beleive how vastly
hugely mind booglingly big it is. You may think its a long way down the
road to the chemist [Drug Store] but thats just peanuts to space."
"The Guide was more Succesful than Celestial Home Care Omnibus, better selling than Fifty Three More Things to Do in Zero Gravity and more controversial than Oolon Cohuphid's trilogy of philosophical blockbusters, Where God Went Wrong, Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes and Who is This God Person Anyway?"
"The great ships hung motionless in the sky, over every nation on
Earth. Motionless they hung, huge, heavy, steady in the sky, a
blasphemy agianst nature. The ships hung in the sky in much they
same way that bricks don't."
"The party consited of mainly engineers and researchers who had built
the Heart of Gold-mostly humaniod, but here and there were a few
reptiloid atomineers, two or three green sylphlike maximegalaticians,
an octopodic physucturalist or two and a Hooloovoo (a Hooloovoo is a
superintelligent shade of the color blue)."
"Fook: O Deep Thought computer, the task we have designed you to perform is this. We want you to tell us ... The Answer!
Deep Thought: The Answer? The Answer to what?
Lunkwill: Life!
Fook: The Universe!
Both: Everything!
Deep Thought: Tricky
Fook: But can you do it.
Deep Thought: Yes, I can do it But I will have to think about it.
Fook: How Long?
Deep Thought: Seven ... and a Half
Fook: What? Not till next week!?
Deep Thought: Million Years.
Seven and a Half million Years Later...
Deep Thought: Good morning.
Loonquawl: Er... good morning O Deep Thought Do you have ... er, that is ...
Deep Thought: An Answer for you?
Phouchg: There really is one?
Deep Thought: Yes, Though I don't think that you're going to like it.
Phouchg: Doesn't matter! We must know it.
Deep Thought: All right ... You're really not going to like it.
Phouchg and Loonquawl: Tell us!
Deep Thought: The Answer to the Great Question... of Life the Universe and Everything... is .. is .. Forty-Two."
"On the B-Ark (full of Consultants, Middle-men and Telephone Sanitizers) About to crash on a planet
Ford: Crash?
Captian: Er, yes, yes, it's all part of the plan, I think. There was a
terribly good reason for it which I can't quite remember at the moment.
It had something to do with... er ...
Ford (Loudly): You're a load of bloody loonies!
Captian (Simling): Ah yes, that was it, that was the reason."
"Arthur: You Know, this explains alot of things. All through my life I've had this strange unaccountable feeling that something was going on in the world, something big, even sinister, and no one would tell me what it was.
Slartibartfast: No, thats just perfectly normal paranioa. Everyone in the Universe has that.
More to Come!
