Cafepress woes

Oh bugger. Looks like I must have given Cafepress permission to randomly stick my designs on any old product they want, regardless of how well they fit. (I'm assuming there's a clause buried in the T&Cs somewhere).

I went searching in the open marketplace (i.e. not the Pretty Rock Empire shop) and found all sorts of bizarro things I certainly didn't put together in my shop, and this when I was planning to reduce the range, not expand it. These new things still have my name (but not Pretty Rock) attached to them as designer, but you can't just slap any old graphic on any old surface and expect it to work. They also don't have any of the text or links I put in the descriptions of the original products I did make. I found shower curtains, golf balls, key rings, blankets, bags, clothing, and god knows what else. Talk about diluting the brand :-(

Seriously - golf balls?

There are some things now available in the marketplace I specifically didn't want done until I'd made more suitable images complete with label and copyright text. There are who knows how many automatically-generated things out there I'll need to take down before I can replace them with branded versions. I really don't need that extra work - using the Cafepress website as a designer is painful enough as it is. Grrr.

Plus I'm going to be taxed for US sales at the maximum rate. It's really not worth the paperwork to get this reduced to a smaller percentage - have you seen US tax forms?

Yuck.
