Ex's and Oh's

As I was leaving another unremarkable day at work, a familiar voice yelled out at me, "hey Steph!" I turned around to see behind the wheel of his beloved vehicle: Matt, my ex. Honestly, you could have knocked me over with a feather. He told my carpool buddy he'd drive me home and from there we had a major drive/catch-up session. He's happy at his work, looking for a new apartment to settle in the middle of the city with his sister, who's moving from the country to go to university and single.

He told me, without a word of a lie, that he couldn't talk to me or see me for the longest time because he wanted to remain committed to the choices he made. I had been thinking about breaking up with him when he turned around and did it one night, out of the blue. He's still a sweetheart though, and one of the few people in the city who understands my obsession with all things pro wrestling. He's just starting to get into TNA, so before he left, I gave him "The Best of the X-Division, Vol. 1" so he can go gah-gah over it.

I called Riker on his birthday on Tuesday, I was carless and at home, and he went out with his friends and co-workers for some drinkers and dinner. We're celebrating on Sunday. I will be cooking for him, trying to find an appropriate outfit. I still need to get the other half of his present - CRAP!

sockmonkeyblues, glad you like the bear. *thumbs up a la Hacksaw*

The Fringe continues to get closer. Mom had some training tonight and I'm going to try to drop by some training sessions to scare some n00bs. Yay for n00bs.

Last night was my cousins' graduation. They're far removed, in terms of the family tree, but they're good kids, so I thought it was the least I could do. Wouldn't you know it? They both got some scholarships. The ceremony was a wash, except for the valedictorian, who had memorized their speech. It was short, to the point, and funny. My ceremony was long, yes, but the speeches didn't suck. That made the night go on forever and ever...

...especially when you're given the wrong time and show up for 6pm when the ceremony's actually at 7pm. *grumbles*

I bought the rest of Jeremy Kushnier's "In Time" and Nelly Furtado's new CD "Loose" off of iTunes. Both of them - very nice. Get 'em if you can.
