G'bye, Harry
Just saw the last Harry Potter movie, holy craaaap.
And it was pretty good! As the Warner Bros logo came up in the beginning, I flashed back to watching the first one come up, the first time. I had just turned 13 and I was shitting myself with an ear-to-ear grin as the John Williams theme started playing. My sisters were all in college at the time; I got to visit one of my big sisters and her/our friend in friend Boston to see it on a screen. I was so. Fucking. Excited. And now here we are, ten years later. Good show, guys.
I found some journal entries I wrote from that year. There's really not much too them -- I was inarticulate when pleased (kind of like now) -- but what the heck. Here they are: simple, authentic joy from a 13-year-old.

HArry Potter movie's coming out soon! I can't wait!!! Damnit I hope I meet a Lupin someday. lol. I think my obsession with him is pretty scary... He's not real!!! Anyways, he's not even there till Book 3 so that's a while away for movies.

Harry Potter came out today! I love Dan Radcliffe! Harry Potter rules! I am so excited! I get to see it tomorrow - it's gonna kick ass!
I had been gonna go with Dad and Jonathan but Liz just called and said she got me a ticket to go see it with her and Lillian which would be way more fun since they're obsessed and Dad's never read the books and Jonathan can't remember anything from them. Can't wait!!!

I saw Harry Potter yesterday! It was awesome!! It was so cool. I love all the actors and everything was so cool. Harry and Ron are so cute and Oliver Wood is hot!! It was such a good movie! I'm so glad it was so good. The books are still way better but I knew that before I saw it. I can't wait till the next ones come out.
