Pay Attention.

Today is an important day of my life. I woke up feeling at peace with the world. The weirdest feeling, I promise. But I refuse to get all worked up and kill myself to work at some $8 an hour desk job. It is ridiculous. I need to get into teacher mode, as i will be in the big S in two weeks

Are you moving to Seattle or a suburb? This State is great place to live:)

I'm teaching and living in Burien. It's about as close to the city as i can afford.

Yeah - I'm familiar with Burien. I used to date a girl who lived up in that area. I live about an hour away from Seattle now (Olympia), but I used to live closer. I'm not much of a city person myself...I tend to like the more rural areas with lots of trees, etc.

So what do you teach? Have you lived in this area before?

Olympia is absolutely gorgeous! I've only been to Washington twice: once last October for a Learning disabilities conference, and in april for the Teacher Job Fair (which happened to be during the 10 year anniversary of Kurt Cobains death...whom I still cherish). I've lived in Ohio all my life. The area I come from is a small town where everyone knows everyone. Your purpose in this town is to graduate from high school, get married, and stay there forever. Not me, I live to defy the norm. This will be my first year as a special ed teacher. I got hired as a Reading and Writing teacher.

I'm right there with ya on that. Too many peoplejust lap up all the garbage they're fed and never stop to think for themselves...
