Making good on goals...

I have been so unmotivated to do anything lately. I've been sleeping until noon on days I don't work, and I've completely given up on searching for jobs. Bah. I need to get out of this rut. Luckily, this desire to do nothing hasn't crept up on my workouts, so I'm good there.

In spite of this recent downturn in productivity, I made good with my new goal of seeing people more often and trekked up north last night. First, while still in Pilsen, Merrick and I got together at his place to watch Gossip Girl. We also drank a ton of wine he brought back from Germany while visiting his boyfriend there. Merrick just spent the past five weeks traveling pretty much all over the counrty and to Germany, so I was insanely jealous. Oh well.

After the show, Merrick and I caught the bus up to Christine's house. I hadn't seen her since her birthday in October, so it was nice. There we drank more German wine. Then at ten we headed up to Evil Olive. Normally I'd steer clear of that joint, but my friend Mike was DJing there at ten and that also happened to be the free Red Strip hour, so we all went. Maria was there, and Jamie came by too. I saw some other people I hadn't seen in ages. It felt good to be out and having fun. I need to do it more often. Plus, I only spent two dollars on a tip for the bartender.

Jamie offered to drive me home, which was great, and we stopped off at Duk's for grilled cheese and burgers. Jamie for some reason paid for mine, which I didn't realize until now. Huh. I did buy a cookie though, so my grand total spending for last night was 3 dollars. Then we sat out front of my house in his car talking about how great Laura (his wife) and Nathan are, which I guess is kind of lame but oh well.

I was in bed by 1:30 a.m., which was pretty cool as well.

Like I said before, I need to do this more!

Oh, and yesterday afternoon, Nathan and I met at the lawyer for our pre-Immigration Interview prep meeting. Our interview is in three weeks, and we have a ton of paperwork to get together before that point. I have a feeling I am going to be like an embarrased school girl throughout the entire meeting. We'll be in an interview setting telling a total stranger how we met, fell in love and such. It's going to be so awkward. We basically have to prove two things: the first being that Nathan and I are for real married and the second that Nathan is eligable to change his status. We're good on both counts, so this should be easy.

After the meeting is over, one of three things will happen. The first is they approve Nathan for a green card on the spot, and he should get it in the mail in three weeks to three months. Our lawyer thinks with our situation, this is the most likely to happen. It would also be so awesome and a mega burden off our sholders, so we hope this is the situation. The second is that they take the evidence we present them, and possibly request more, and take time to reflect on it and then come to a conclusion. This could take months and be nervewracking, so we hope this doesn't happen. The third, and least likely senerio, is that they deny it on the spot. That would be terrible, but it won't happen.
