Unexpected inspiration

This morning, at 7:48 a.m., my cellphone beeped to announce a text. I saw that it was from MrD's childminder and thought: Uh-oh. How beautiful! I can see why you thought Fangorn.

I tend to go for a walk somewhere nearby. I live in the country, so there are plenty of dirt roads and hills. Sometimes, though, I'll go to a museum, or a concert.

Ooh, how perfect that you live in a good area for long, hilly walks. Ideal for thinking through writing problems! And I totally hear you on the museums. When I was working in downtown Leeds, I used to go to the art museum sometimes on my lunch break just to try to fill up the well a bit.

I like waterfalls: I find them both cleansing and uplifting. Cambs, where I live, is, of course, rather flat and thus low on them. But we have lots and lots of trees and I find them very inspiring, too.

Isn't it a fabulous name? I think it's because it really does have the feeling of a maze...very, very easy to get lost in it. (I'm not sure I could have found my own way out of it if I hadn't been with Patrick!)
