Trains, Bath, and Jane Austen tea

So, yesterday we took the train to Bath. Woooot!!!! (We'd originally planned to spend the whole weekend there, but irritating practicalities got in the way.) Anyone who follows me on twitter probably saw how ridiculously excited I was by the end of Friday night, as I searched out all the zillion things I wanted to do while we were there on Saturday ( Read more... )

Porto, for sort of the same reason...I'm writing something set there.

But Bath is truly gorgeous! I'm glad you had fun ;o)

Ooh, Porto sounds fun - esp. if you could mix it with research!

Cosplayers ADORE having their pictures taken. Dressing up is part creativity and part positive attention seeking.

Ha! Yes, I bet the climate contrast must be pretty intense.

Sadly, I can't recommend our house as a place to stay right now for anybody because MrD's sleep schedule has become so horrific - we spend our evenings from 7pm onwards tiptoeing and being careful not even to open or close any doors near his room, etc...Sigh. Someday our lifestyle will become sane again...

...but we would really love to see you if you were able to make a day-trip!

I think that was Matt's favorite lion too! I should post my lion pictures--I found almost 40 of them. It was a fun wander-around-Bath kind of game to play.

Well, if I actually had to fly, I'd go to Toronto. I've already been there once, enough to have an idea, but not so much of an idea that I couldn't wander and get a bit lost and have the thrill of discovery. If it was teleportation, I'd probably try something new...Kyoto, Paris, or somewhere in Italy (would have to do a bit of research to determine where...)...or...oh, so many places I'd like to see...!

I love Toronto! (My family used to go there every summer, since we lived in Michigan, near the Canadian border.) But mmm, Paris sounds pretty good right now too...
