Happy Mother's Day!

May 09, 2004 18:25

The rule in my family is that until all the kids are old enough to buy something, all the kids have to make something for Mother's Day. All the kids. So last night, we spread a tarp down in the basement and got a big piece of paper and put paint on Jessie's feet and let her run around. Not sure what mom's gonna do with that, but it's something. ;) I made my mom a thing to hang off the mirror in her car. I got the pattern from a craft store, it's a little stuffed pig and I painted all of our names on it. Kinda cute. My mom likes pigs.

Today was crazy, I just got back from the day at gram's. We always have a big mother's day lunch, anyone who's mom is present at the lunch has to help make something, so that meant my mom, 2 aunts, an uncle, and like 40 kids were running in and out of the kitchen. It's fun though, I love having a big family. My Uncle Scott and Aunt Jean and cousins Chris and Brit came in from Penn, so that was fun. But tiring! Thankfully almost all the cousins are old enough to play Life all afternoon, but trying to keep the minivans out of jessi's mouth was a job itself.

I also called Mrs. Bradley and wished her a happy mother's day. I felt funny, but she's gonna be my mom-in-law someday, like 40 years down the line of course, and my mom said it would be nice. And then I talked to Ry a little and he said that she was telling Mr. B how sweet I was so I guess it worked. ;) Plus Ry told me that Olivia was born, congrats RyanJ!!!!! Can't wait to see her!

Less than a week and i say bye to detroit. It's so weird. Not just to be away, but to think that i'll be on my own. Bills to pay. An apartment to decorate. And I thought it was sweet when I got my own room and got to decorate that with a bucket of yellow paint. Ha. Now i get a whole like 6 rooms. I'll probably need more than just a leftover bucket of paint from my sister's nursery.

Ya know, I was poking around lj, did you know there's all this like resurectedness of the Babysitters Club??? lol, i find it hilarious, i dunno. But that's like my whole childhood right there. My friends and i tried to start one when we were like 10, but no one would hire us because we were 10 and my sisters kept finding my junk food, i wanted to be the claudia. :[ I even told my mom i needed to dye my hair black and buy dangle earrings, but they said no to both, imagine that. We used to sit around and tell BSC stories, it was like "Kristy kissed Bart. HEEEEEEEEEEEE. Claudia kissed Trevor...WITH HER MOUTH OPEN. :-O HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA." Yeah they were like prize winning stories and stuff.

Well I guess I'm gonna like go tell my mama i love her or something. ;) Happy mothers day to all the moms and moms to be!!

and tara deleted my fave icon and that makes me sad, so i think i'll go cry.
