Engaged.
I'm engaged.
I sorta never thought I'd say those words. Ever. But then after things started going a lot better with Ry, I thought ok...maybe when I'm 30.
He had to go home and I miss him, but I can't stop smiling no matter.
I guess he had this plan. He was telling me...he's been thinking about proposing for a while, mostly because he knew that I wasn't ready to get married and i wouldn't let myself get ready for that until I had to...haha, yeah he knows me well! So his plan. He was going to fly in and propose on April 1 and I'd think it was this big joke and he was going to see how long it would take for me to crack and believe him, and then of course everyone else would think it was a big joke too and it woulda been a riot, but then things got messed up at worlds, blibbidy blah...so that didn't happen, but it was still great. :)
He already told most of the story, but here's what I was thinking, lol. He says it, asks me to marry him, and I'm just like WHAT. Really, there was like 3 mins of complete silence and i'm just staring at him, trying to figure out what he said, if he meant it, what i would say if he really did mean it. Finally I asked him if he was serious, he said yes, and I told him to prove it. So he kissed me again and...I knew. Just knew.
So I just squeaked out a "yes" and this huge grin just took over my face and I couldn't stop giggling. We laid on my bed together for a long time, maybe I dozed off for a little bit, I don't remember. Finally, we heard my mom and little sisters coming upstairs from their day of school in the basement and I knew Mandy would be home from school soon, so I asked him if we could tell my mom, and he said yes. I wanted to tell just her first, so I asked her to come in my room and we told her and she cried and hugged us and said how proud of us she was, and of course asked when the wedding would be, and we told her that it wouldn't be for at least a year, maybe more. She said that she thought that was a good idea for me, and then we went out and told the sisters - Mandy had come home from school too, so they all hugged us and Cat is absolutely CRAZY about Ryan, so she was thrilled and things were good. :)
Then we called his family, and I had to call APalie of course, but while I was on the phone with his mom, he updated his journal and she saw it and freaked out and called me, so we talked for a long time, and then I came online and told everyone...easiest way to spread the word, lol.
The next day, he went up to the DSC with me and hung around while I worked and taught some classes. We told Jason, and I apologized for having to leave him just when I was getting started working with him, but he was fine. I'm staying until May 14, when this session of classes end, but then I'm moving to Colorado.
Ry and AP are done with school that week too, so they'll be able to help me move in...I think I'm gonna drive out there and have my mom drive the van and that should hold all my stuff. And Ry's gonna help me set up interviews with the coaching staff at Broadmoor. I'd like to help out with the pairs there - Larry Ibarra's got a new partner, and Brittany Vise & Nicholas Kole are doing awesome out of there. I guesswe'll see what they think I should do though. And I've already got a job in the office being held for me because you know i love being a phone girl. ;)
It's gonna be weird. Engaged. Moved out. All so fast, all just before I turn 20. But it'll be good. I love Colorado, all the mountains and everything, and I think Ry and I need to live in the same town as each other for once. Plus living with my best friend won't hurt either. :)
Ry had to go home on Saturday - he had plans for Easter with his family and I wasn't ready to launch him onto all my relatives yet! Plus he'd missed class and assignments blah blah.
I don't have a ring yet, in case anyone is wondering. Ry didn't really have time to buy one since he decided to propose 15 mins before he did. ;) He says he'll buy me one, and i'm not supposed to help him, lol. So we'll see what he comes up with. ;)
I'm just happy. :) And I've got a lunch date with Larisa, so I'm gonna go. Em, wanna do lunch sometime soon?
