The neighborhood I grew up in was full of girls. There were at least 9 of us. We would hang out every chance we got. We formed countless clubs, ran away together, had sleep overs, and even dared each other to say cuss words. These girls were as close as sisters to me.
My mom called today telling me that Emily was just diagnosed with a rare, and violent cancer. She's only 16. She's been having an ongoing cold that just wouldn't clear up. So the doctors started to run tests. They found a malignant tumor between her nose and throat. They have removed it, but the cancer wasn't isolated there. They are unsure where all it is, but they have told her parents that of all the cancers kids get, this is bad. Her doctor is trying to find a specialist to pursue the right course of action.
It's pretty hard for me to accept, and even harder for her immediate family.
Pray for her. and for them. it's going to be hard to see God's grace and goodness in this.
