(no subject)
I am trying to stay up past 7:30, but I'm fading fast. I spent a large part of my day trying to feed a baby goat who just doesn't seem to understand the concept of sucking. Her brother will suck on the bottle, my fingers, my sweatshirt, or anything. She just lets me shove the nipple into the side of her mouth and then reluctantly swallows as the milk slowly drips down her throat. After three rather long attempts at nourishing her this way, I have finally succumbed to fatigue and put her with her mom for the night. I will try again tomorrow. I'm actually not even convinced that she is sucking very well from her mom. She is much smaller than her brother.
Still, the goats are probably the least of my stresses. I had to meet with a very rude social worker this afternoon. I tried to stay calm so the villager in my care could better stay calm, but it was difficult. We are trying to get this villager back some of the services that she lost when her social worker changed programs on her in order to save money for the county. It has been a long and tiring process.
For good news, I cooked a yummy lunch today. Also, our baby is still doing fine and I don't have to be on bed rest. My bed is, however, calling to me right now. Good night everyone!
