i finished reading philo early saturday morning, prepared for subic and whee! it was my first time to go on an excursion in college (except field trips). the group i am with in this trip is our bible study group (every sunday evening at 303 prince david) headed by achi len and ahia johny. i was excited and was determined to leave my worries and burdens in katipunan as i wanted to meet the Lord in subic. we left katipunan at about 13:30 and arrived sbma at mid-afternoon. we stayed at mau camp...an old military place... we rested for a few minutes before playing "amazing race." our group was first to finish but we unfortunately committed a mistake in one of the questions...sad...but no matter, we headed back to 'camp' and worshipped the Lord indoors with songs of praise... we were supposed to have bonfire but stayed indoors instead since it rained that afternoon. we also played bluff that night and ahia obert was really funny...i like the way he speaks in bisaya and how he teases us "to carry our cross" when we played bluff...couldn't sleep that night though...kept tossing and turning, i just couldn't find the right position...perhaps i was uncomfortable with the bed with springs...especially old beds with springs...
nevertheless, perhaps just before the dawn broke, i fell asleep...
it was sunday the next day and we spent the morning at the dungaree bay (its name has its history ;p). we spent the first few hours there reflecting... truly, in my being busy in school, i stopped to look at what really mattered...the beauty of creation that shouts God's name. at first nothing came to mind...but then simply being in front of the sea...indeed, was a miracle...as the text (that was asked of us to read) says that it is a wonder that the shoreline sets a boundary so the water does not flood the land. for that moment, it seemed like nothing mattered more than just being with Him... truly, it should always be...i don't want to lose sight...or even lose that memory of how the beach looked like...overseeing the other islands nearby...it was really great...
we always know that God is there and He's a big God...but many times we lose sight of things and doubt...we are like sitting on the sand just far enough to be reached by the water but then whenever the waves toss, we fear that the water would reach us...sad...teach us Lord...
the others swam and played volleyball...i opted not to do both...:D i just stayed under the shade and waited for the food...wooo...fooooood :D
we headed back to the camp for our things and then to
this place where six of us went for the slide 4 life...it was great! i just kept screaming to loosen the tension...:D (forgive me for my lack of details...really a newbie in journal stuff;D) we then went to duty free! i bought me a cadbury milky top freddo! it has dream cadbury (my favorite!) as freddo's head (not sure if it's the frog's name though :D) we also ate supper at meat plus...ordered myself grilled boneless chicken...quite expensive but tasty...though ahia fitz didn't enjoy his roast beef :D hehe
headed back home at about 18:30...halfway back the trip, the L300 on which we were riding got overheated...i don't know how long it took the guys to fix it...but that time was really fun...we shared jokes and laughed our way through the time...
it was truly an adventure...as, i'm guessing, achi len and ahia johny made the theme as such...:D truly, we bonded and had fun...and really, just to meet with Him!
